Sarawak Skills Sri Aman Campus at Jalan Rambutan, Sri Aman

SRI AMAN: People here can now equip themselves with more skills with the Sarawak Skills Development Centre (Sarawak Skills Sri Aman) offering short courses for working adults and the public.

Sarawak Skills Group of Learning Institutions (Sarawak Skills) Executive Director Hallman Sabri said it took great pride in complementing the government and industries in developing the state’s and nation’s human capital.

“Indeed, we are grateful for the tremendous support from the Sarawak government and the Sri Aman Development Agency (SADA) for facilitating the establishment of the new learning centre, and fostering various talent development initiatives in this region.

“As part of our ongoing effort to advance the noble objectives of talent development for the benefit of the populace in the Sri Aman division, our branch will be offering various short courses over the next few months followed by a range of industry-relevant skills programmes later this year,” he said.

He added that Sarawak Skills has launched a number of short courses, including on Basic Electrical Wiring, Computer Repair and Maintenance, and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

“In total, we expect to offer 10 short courses in February and March this year. We are encouraged by the tremendous support by the populace in Sri Aman, with more than 200 registered participants for the aforementioned short courses,” he said.

Hallman stated that Sarawak Skills Sri Aman also plans to offer various Malaysian Skills Certificate programmes such as Computer System and Networking, Electrical, and Plantation in the second half of this year.

“These programmes will go a long way towards supporting the transformation of Sarawak’s six key economic sectors (main engines of growth) in line with the Sarawak Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030,” he said.
