KUCHING: Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) deputy information chief Andy Lawrence has urged Sarawakians to give their full support to Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) so that it can win all its 31 parliamentary seats.
“With that, we will become a formidable force to form the next federal government after the 15th General Election (GE15). Our voices will be stronger than ever and we will have a bigger bargaining chip,” he said.
Andy added that the forthcoming general election was the most crucial time for Sarawakians as that the state might never have that kind of opportunity again.
“If we win solid 31 seats for GPS, we can ask for the DPM post with critical portfolio like Finance Minister, or at least Minister of Home Affairs,” he added in a press statement yesterday.
He pointed out that after GE14, the political situation in Malaya was in disarray.
“Political party splits put an end to political dominant by single party. Previously, one political party could secure more than 80 seats.
“That is the thing in the past. Now, the most one political party can win is maybe 50 seats.”
