KUCHING: The Society for Cancer Advocacy and Awareness Kuching (SCAN) has made a meaningful contribution to the Methodist Church’s Hospital Ministry Group by donating copies of ‘So You Have Cancer, What Now?’

This was as part of SCAN’s ongoing commitment to community well-being and aims to support individuals battling cancer.

The donated publications are a collection of narratives from cancer patients and survivors, sharing their experiences of resilience, hope, and triumph. These stories are intended to inspire and encourage those navigating their own journeys with cancer.

“This donation enables the ministry to further its mission of providing comfort and companionship to those in difficult times, fostering a sense of solidarity and hope during their treatment,” said Reverend Teo from the Hospital Ministry at the donation ceremony held at Wisma Methodist, Jalan Pisang yesterday (Apr 5).

Meanwhile, Datin Dayang Mariani Abang Zain, an advisor to SCAN, reflected on the event as a testament to the cooperative spirit among community organisations and faith-based groups.

“Together, we contribute to the well-being of patients, offering a touch of hope and a reminder that they are not alone in their fight,” she said.
