MATU: School leavers are advised to take the opportunity to further their studies at institutions of higher learning in Sarawak.

According to the statement by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS), Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier Office (Integrity and Ombudsman) and Jemoreng assemblyman, Datuk Dr Juanda Jaya pointed out that many universities from abroad had set up their branches in the state to facilitate students to further their studies.

He advised school leavers to further their studies instead of working to ensure a better future for themselves.

“However, you should not choose courses that are glamorous.  Instead, you should choose the course based on your ability and interests,” he added.

He said this when officiating at the Matu District Education Expo at Dewan Suarah Matu today.

During the same programme, 446 students from 20 schools under PPD Matu Daro and PPD Dalat received school uniform assistance vouchers from the Sarawak Foundation worth RM200 each.
