MIRI: Sarawak Energy (SEB) sponsored the International Conference on Materials Technology and Energy (ICMTE) 2017 jointly organised by The Institute of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM); Institute of Materials, Malaysia (IMM); Miri City Council; and Curtin University Malaysia here on Thursday.
To support platforms to discuss recent technical advancements, innovation and best practices in relation to materials technology and energy, Sarawak Energy was a sponsor for the two-day conference which saw participation from industry and academia.
Group Chief Executive Officer Sharbini Suhaili delivered a keynote address on ‘Reliable, Renewable, Sustainable and Affordable Energy for Sarawak and Beyond’ at the conference.
Sharbini talked about Sarawak Energy’s initiatives to ensure reliable, renewable, sustainableand affordable power for the state and beyond, and also took the opportunity to highlight the company’s efforts totalling about RM1 billion to strengthen Miri’s reliability of power supply.
Minister of Industrial and Entrepreneur Development, Trade and Investment Datuk Amar Haji Awang Tengah Ali Hasan officiated at the opening ceremony of the conference.
