Selangor ready to evacuate its students from Sabah, Sarawak

SHAH ALAM: The Selangor government is prepared to assist students of institutions of higher learning from the state studying in Sabah and Sarawak to return home as directed by the Higher Education Ministry.

Selangor Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the ministry’s instruction for all students to vacate their institutions was provided under the Movement Control Order announced by the federal government starting today until March 31.

He said following the Movement Control Order, all state government dealings would be conducted online.  

“These involved all matters of the State Government Secretariat, and other state government offices including local authorities,” he said in statement here last night.

In line with the order, all morning markets, night markets and roadside markets would not be allowed to operate except market found inside a building.      

Last night, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced Malaysia would be enforcing Movement Control Order from today until March 31 nationwide to curb the spread of Covid-19 infection. – Bernama
