KUCHING: An elderly rider who was severely injured following a two-vehicle collision along Jalan Tun Abdul Rahman Yakub yesterday (Aug 21) has succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment.
Kuching police chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah said the 68-year-old had sustained severe head injuries and was rushed to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for treatment.
“However, the man was later pronounced dead by the hospital while receiving treatment.
“The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving,” he said.
The accident happened around 9.40 am when a motorcycle and a car were travelling in the same direction. The car was driven by a 26-year-old woman.
Ahsmon said the driver did not sustain any injuries.
