The Sarawak contingent assistant chef de missions (ACDM) for September's Kuala Lumpur Malaysia Games have been reminded to take care of the wellbeing of athletes and ensure that preparations are not disrupted by personal issues.

SARATOK: Assemblymen service centres should keep a close eye on the implementation of the Sarawak Poor Housing Improvement Project (PPRMS) to ensure it runs smoothly.

In stating this assemblyman Kalaka Mohamad Duri said at the same time appointed contractors should also be committed to ensure none of these developments are delayed.

According to him, PPRMS is one of the initiatives of the Sarawak government that is very beneficial to the people.

“Therefore, officers at my own service centre will go to the field to closely monitor the implementation process, and we want the contractor to also have a high commitment.

“Because PPRMS is very much appreciated by those who are not able to live in comfortable homes,” he said after attending the vote draw session for the implementation of the first phase of the PPRMS for Kalaka 2022 involving 21 contractors.

In a separate development, Mohamad called for the active participation of community leaders and tribal leaders (KMKK) in ensuring their respective settlements receive balanced and comprehensive development.

“Basically, every village or longhouse needs to have a good and organised management and administration.

“Therefore, KMKK’s excellence and performance should be gauged so that they are more efficient in playing their role at the grassroots level,” he added.
