SGH aims to collect 510 blood bags in week-long drive

KUCHING: The Blood Bank of Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) is embarking on a week-long blood donation drive with the aim of collecting 510 blood bags.

Scheduled from April 15 to 21, the drive will span various locations in the Kuching area.

Consequently, the operating hours of the SGH’s Blood Bank have reverted to normal with Monday to Thursday from 8am to 12pm, and 2pm to 4.30pm; Friday, from 8am to 11.30am and 2.15pm to 4.30pm.

During the blood donation drive from April 15 to 19 at various locations, the Blood Bank aims to collect a total of 30 blood bags at each site.

On April 20, the blood donation drive at Kuching Sentral aims to collect 70 blood bags, while at Emart Tabuan Jaya, the target is 50 blood bags.

Meanwhile, the blood donation drive at Chung Hua Middle School No. 1 aims to collect 150 blood bags on the same day.

“Therefore, we call upon donors who are eligible to donate blood this week.

“Continue to support us in ensuring an adequate and safe blood supply for patients in need. Let us donate blood consistently and continuously,” SGH’s Blood Bank said in a Facebook post.

They also took the opportunity to thank all blood donors who came forward to donate blood throughout the Ramadan month.
