SEBUYAU: A total of seven mosques and 14 suraus in the Sebuyau constituency have received a special grant of RM42,000 from Batang Lupar MP Shafizan Kepli.
The handover of the grant took place at the Sebuyau District Office yesterday (April 3).
Each mosque received RM3,000 while each surau received RM1,500.
According to the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), Shafizan said that the grant has been deposited into the accounts of each mosque and surau to facilitate the management of their respective committees.
He also hoped that the grants would help promote religious activities in the organisations in their respective villages.
Also present were Sebuyau district officer Ayuradiman Bujang and the recipients.
