KUCHING: The first-ever “ShallWEEDance Challenge 2024” is set to promote unity and creativity within the Sarawak community by bringing people together through the universal language of dance.

Open to individuals and groups of all ages, with no restrictions based on race or gender, the dance competition runs from Jan 25 to 31.

Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng encouraged participants to showcase their dance skills by following provided steps and tutorials on his Facebook page.

“Participants are free to use their creativity with the dance, but the basic moves must be incorporated to secure more likes.

“The duration for the video is one minute, and contestants must upload their dance videos on either Facebook, TikTok, or Instagram, including the hashtags #ShallWEEDance and #Let’sGetTogether. The social media account must be public,” he said during a press conference at the MBKS building on Thursday (Jan 25).

The first round will take place on Feb 1, where the top 20 videos proceeding to the next round will be announced on his Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/DatoWeeHongSeng
