SIBU: Police issued 154 summonses for various traffic offences under an operation codenamed ‘Op Samseng Jalanan’ at Jalan Awang Ramli Amit here last Saturday (July 8).

Sibu police chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili said 79 road users, including seven women, were checked and 44 vehicles were seized in the operation from 9 pm to 3 am.

“The traffic offences included plate numbers that did not follow the regulations, driving without licence and insurance, and failure to display road tax, modified exhaust, pipes, failure to display the ‘P’ sign and non-functional brakes,” he said.

He reminded parents to monitor their children’s activities and advise them not to violate traffic rules, and ensure that their children have valid driving licences.
