SIBU: A tourism travel guide was launched by the Sibu Member of Parliament’s service centre on Sunday (July 22).

MP Oscar Ling who launched it said it was designed and produced by his service centre to introduce tourism attractions in Sibu town.

“Those who come in or tourists should not miss the town’s attractions and also food. It is a simple guide for them to really want to look into Sibu,” he said, adding that 5,000 copies will be made available.

“Actually I want to promote Sibu in terms of tourism so we start with our young people first to really know about Sibu with this travel guide,” he stated.

According to him, his service centre took three months to produce the travel guide and will distribute the copies to strategic places such as airport, shopping mall and Sibu Tourism Board’s office.

Earlier in the morning, he said his service centre organised a programme for youths to participate especially to introduce them to the Sibu old town and old businesses.

He said a lot of youngsters are not quite familiar with the old town centre and invited them to participate to delve into the attractions of the old town through a ‘treasure hunt’ competition.
