SIBU: A singer did not hesitate to dive into a flooded drain to save the lives of a couple after the car they were in skidded and plunged into it at Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman here today (Jan 19).

The Iban singer, Watt Rock through his Facebook post, said he was driving with his wife and their children when he saw the car skid and plunge into the drain.

“My wife and I went there and without hesitation, I dove in. However, I couldn’t think of a way to help the couple, all I heard was a weak scream from the victims inside the car.

“Then I saw my wife running from afar bringing the car tyre wrench to me while calling the ambulance. A man in an orange shirt also came to help.”

He said that they both tried to break the car window however, the drain conditions made their attempts difficult.

“Blow after blow, we managed to break the window and quickly proceeded to pull a man out of the car and then a woman,” Watt Rock said.

The two victims were then taken to Sibu Hospital by ambulance.
