MUKAH: SMK St Patrick emerged as the champions in the men’s category of the Mukah Divisional Schools Sports Council (MSSB) Volleyball Championship held at SJKC Chong Boon recently.

In the same category, SMK Mukah secured the runners-up position, followed by SMK Oya in third place and SMK Three Rivers in fourth place.

For the women’s category, SMK Three Rivers claimed the top spot while SMK St Patrick finished as the runners-up, and SMK Mukah took third place.

The tournament, organised by SMK St Patrick and the Mukah District Education Office (PPD), introduced seven individual achievement awards sponsored by Bank Rakyat, Mukah Branch.

Brenden Tang Leong Juong and Brianna Tang Xin Ying from SMK St Patrick received the Best Outside Hitter Award.

Lee Lum Ming from SMK Mukah and Amber Law Li Wen from SMK St Patrick won the Best Opposite Hitter Award.

The Best Middle Blocker award went to Clement Kong Wei Qi from SMK St Patrick and Charmaine Lo Siao Tang from SMK Mukah.

Januarius Christ Ong and Nathalie Kong Hui Yuan from SMK St Patrick were awarded the Best Server.

The Best Setter Award was presented to Wesley Ting Zhen Sie from SMK Mukah and Jocelyn Teo Xu Jing from SMK Three Rivers.

Darrel Lee Yan Sheng from SMK St Patrick and Joyce Teo Xu Yan from SMK Three Rivers received the Best Receiver Award.

Januarius Christ Ong and Joyce Teo Xu Yan were recognised as the Most Valuable Players of the tournament.

The coaches involved in the championship were Akmal Ridzwan Ahmad and Corina Annabeth Barry.
