MIRI: The Batu Niah Community Rehabilitation Centre (PPDK) organised a charity hair programme with special needs children and their parents on yesterday (March 8).

The programme was organised in conjunction with the celebration of International Women’s Day.

PPDK Batu Niah chairwoman Low Mei Ping said the programme was to showcase appreciation and express gratitude to women especially mothers of special needs children because they had devoted a lot in looking after their children.

“We also held several interactive game sessions during the programme to allow mothers, students, and teachers to interact with each other while strengthening the students’ abilities to manage themselves,” she said.

Besides this, Low said there were self-care activities such as brushing teeth, bathing, putting on clothes, and fine motor activities for the Early Intervention Programme (EIP) with mothers and staff.

“I would like to thank Jojo Saloon Charity Haircut, Lions Club of Batu Niah president Andy Jong and Buddhist Society Batu Niah Women Section for their contributions which made this programme a success,” she added.
