MIRI: Less than 24 hours after a Modenas motorcycle worth RM3,500 was reported missing, police on Monday morning apprehended a local man, aged 24, in Kampung Sealine Lutong to assist in their probes on the case.
The man was detained around 8.30am during Ops Lejang by a team of Miri Criminal Investigation Department (CID) personnel.
After further investigation, the suspect led the Miri CID team to a location where he hid the motorcycle.
They found the stolen motorcycle at a health clinic at Jalan Bintang around 9.45am.
Earlier in a police report lodged by the victim, the motorcycle was stolen at Jalan Kwang Tung here on Saturday around 2pm.
The case is being investigated under Section 379A of the Penal Code.
