SIBU: Sports can be good and rewarding hobbies, especially for youth, says Bukit Assek assemblyman, Joseph Chieng Jin Ek.

By participating in sports, people were not only able to practise a healthy lifestyle but could also use their leisure time well.

Speaking at the launch of Sarawak X-Tive 2022 for Sibu division, he emphasised that sports were essential to create strong nations.

“We need to encourage the young people to be involved so that we can have a healthy nation,” he added.

Chieng hoped the  programme could be continued in the future with the participation of more youth organisations.

“It is very unfortunately this time, we cannot invite more youth bodies to join us because of the COVID-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs).

But I believe we can invite more next year.” said Chieng at the Sarawak X-tive 2022 for Sibu.

The inaugural Sarawak X-tive 2022 event was launched today simultaneously across the state by Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg in Gedong.
