KUCHING: Datin Dona Drury-Wee has been re-elected as the Sarawak Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animal (SSPCA) president.

The society said its Annual General Meeting for 2021/2022 was held on Sunday (Sept 4) at Mandarin Restaurant where a new committee was elected.

Gracie Geikie was elected as the society’s new chairperson succeeding outgoing chairperson Rebecca D’Cruz.

“We would like to thank Rebecca for serving the society since 2009. Throughout her years as our chairperson, she had brought vast knowledge and experience.

“The depth of her thinking and level headedness – from a small volunteer-driven outfit into an institution in Sarawak. She will be truly missed, and we wish to express our deepest thanks for her years of service,” it said in a social media post today.

Meanwhile, Ng Yaw Hua was elected as treasurer and Brenda Png as secretary with committee members including Yong Jia Yang, Sim Swee Sia, Shirley Su, Lily Liew and Andy Teo.
