SARAWAK United FC (SU FC) head coach B. Sathianathan took his players away from the gloomy overcast surrounding the team after coming out with (6-0) against Johor Darul Ta ‘zim (JDT) last Wednesday.

In a brief session with the head coach, he expressed the need to motivate the team as it is still early in the league.

“Winning and losing is what the game is about … we lost a game. So what? Move on … Forget everything and everyone who only have words. We have no time to loom in what others have to say,” said Sathianathan while adding that he wanted the team to rise from the incident and to the occasion.

“We got beaten in someone’s else home … But what about going to do when it comes to our home?” he mooted his players.

With the opening act for another prestigious trophy of the parent body, the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) which saw SU FC will host the visiting club status team from the M3 League, namely Ultimate FC at the State Stadium, Petra Jaya this Sunday.

“This is an opportunity for players to learn about every single weakness and focus on each other’s strength and teamwork.

“I want the players to forget the game with JDT because it has caused an impact,” Sathianathan told Arena Suara Sarawak while adding that the team morale depends on many factors, the trust from the coach is by far, a major influence on the team.

He added, “the focus at the moment is the victory we need to claim in the next match — so that we qualify for the next round.”

While Sathianathan gets his players tuned up and prepare them for the upcoming match, we can expect a quality match as a re-emergence of several key players in the team will take place.
