Subis has tourism potential – Tengah

MIRI: Subis community can expect to receive more tourism development to accelerate the local economy in future.

Minister of Indutrial and Entrepreneur Development, Trade and Investment, Datuk Amar Haji Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said Subis had its natural attractions that could be developed to lure outsiders to visit the place.

Speaking at the launch of Subis Regatta 2017 here, yesterday, he said Tusan Beach and Kampung Tanjung Bungai Beach were among the best places that could be developed as tourist attractions for Subis.

Commenting on Subis Regatta, he said the event could be a platform to market the tourism potential as well as to attract visitors to the area.

Awang Tengah, who represented Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Haji Johari Tun Openg, announced a grant of RM30,000 for the  organising committee Subis Regatta 2017.

Meanwhile, Member of Parliament for Sibuti, Haji Ahmad Lai Bujang urged Subis community to continue and strengthen the unity between themselves and local leaders so that they could enjoy more development and facilites in future.

He said the rural folks would not be isolated from the mainstream development and Subis would become one of the major towns in future.

Also present at the event were Assistant Minister for Solidarity Rosey Yunus, Lambir State Assemblyman Ripin Lamat, Subis District Officer Husini Bakir, department heads and local dignitaries.
