S’wak delegation visits hydrogen facility in China

GUANGZHOU: A delegation from Sarawak led by Sarawak Transport Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin had the opportunity to learn more about hydrogen vehicles during an official working visit on transport matters to Foshan, Guangzhou, China from Oct 28 to 30.

One of their places of visit was the Foshan Feichi automobile manufacturer for hydrogen vehicles maintenance centre and refuelling station. The delegation was received by Jiang Yong, the general manager of Feichi.

A briefing was conducted by Jiang and his team, covering the system and technology of hydrogen buses, safety features of the maintenance centre, refuelling process, and hydrogen storage system.

The delegation also visited their operation and monitoring control centre to understand the operation, monitoring and control system for hydrogen buses as public transport in Foshan, Guangzhou.

Besides this, the delegation was also briefed on the hydrogen bus performance on the road in Kuching based on data collected by Feichi. According to the reliability and performance tests done, the bus performed well and met the predetermined standards.

The delegation was introduced to the Hydrogen Energy Tram with the latest technology related to hydrogen energy vehicles including high speed train. They were given an opportunity to ride on the Hydrogen Energy Tram, which will be launched for public use in January next year.
