Tanjong Datu receives UNIFOR funds of RM700k

KUCHING: A total of RM700,000 has been allocated by the Unit for Other Religions (UNIFOR) for the Tanjong Datu constituency.

This allocation is intended to support the maintenance and development of four places of worship in Tanjong Datu, with an additional two in the Sematan area and two more in Lundu.

In a press statement issued yesterday, Tanjong Datu assemblyman Azizul Annuar Adenan conveyed his gratitude to the Sarawak government, particularly acknowledging the support and attention from Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas in various religious affairs.

He emphasised that this support is directed towards fulfilling the religious needs and enhancing the overall worship experience for the people residing in the Tanjong Datu constituency.

Among the allocations, RM50,000 was presented to the Borneo Evangelical Mission Pueh Church in Pueh Lundu.

Furthermore, RM300,000 and RM200,000 were provided for the construction of the new building of the Good Shepherd Church in Kampung Pueh and the maintenance and repair of the Old Vicarage building at St Francis Parish in Lundu, respectively.

Additional funds amounting to RM150,000 were also given for emergency work for the construction of a security fence and a Slope Retaining Wall preventing soil erosion near the Lundu Buddhist Society building.
