PADAWAN: A group of teenagers made a gruesome find when they came across a dead body near a water tower at MJC, Batu Kawa on Friday (Feb 18).

Padawan OCPD Supt Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad, who confirmed the case, said the discovery was made by 11 teenagers, who were looking for a fishing spot, around 5pm near Sungai Maong Kanan.

Investigations found that there were no signs of foul play. The police also found the victim’s phone, identification card and wallet at the scene.

The victim was identified as Chan Weng Hong, 63, a contractor from Jalan Stampin.

He added that the body was taken to SGH Forensic Department for further action.
