SIBU: The Sarawak government through the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts (MTCP) will always give the greatest support to theStage programme, said Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew.

The MTCP deputy minister said that theStage programme is a platform for local youth to showcase their talent, enhance the artistic atmosphere and gather talent all together.

“I hope through this platform more talented people can be seen and at the same time I am here to encourage more young people to come out and participate, encourage friends and give the greatest support to them.

“I am glad the stage 1.0 and the stage 2.0 have achieved a great response from the locals and the number of attendees in each show has a significant breakthrough and hope to do better in the future,” he said.

He said this when officiating at the event through a video message showcased during the opening ceremony of theStage 3.0 at Rejang Esplanade here on Saturday (April 8).

He conveyed his best wishes to all the participants and urged more young talent to be daring and join the programme in order to unleash their talents.

Meanwhile, Bukit Assek assemblyman Joseph Chieng Jin Ek said the Stage 0.3 was organised by hyper young Sibu and co-organised by Yartist and JCI Seduan.

He also said that the event was supported by Sibu Municipal Council (SMC), Bukit Assek Service Centre and MTCP.

“Your attendance not only supports the dreamers on the stage but also motivate the event crew to become better and great.

“I am very happy and touched because in the past two sessions there are countless talented local performing artists who dare to turn their dream into reality on the stage and let their dreams shine,” he said.

He also disclosed the event returning for the third series with a new theme, which is Let’s Go Dreamers.

“Life is a journey of chasing dreams and only by daringly pursuing your dreams we can find the meaning of life.

“We also aim to continue upholding the vision from theStage 1.0 and 2.0 which are to discover and encourage more local young people who have dreams and talents but nowhere to show themselves and provide them opportunities to be seen,” he said.
