SIBU: The serenity of the first day of the New Year was abruptly disrupted with a bang as a shooting incident unfolded, leaving three men hospitalised.
The incident, captured on CCTV, happened at an eatery along Jalan Wong King Hou around 5pm.
It was understood that two unidentified men on a motorcycle appeared at the scene, suspected to be the assailants who opened fire on the victims seated at the eatery.
One of the suspects is alleged to have fired at close range, while the other discharged from a distance.
As a result, three men sustained injuries and they were rushed to a private hospital for urgent medical attention.
The incident is gaining widespread attention after the CCTV footage went viral on social media.
A police team have been dispatched to the scene to conduct an investigation into the case.
