KUCHING: Sarawak recorded three new positive Covid-19 cases on Sunday, bringing the total number of positive cases in the state to 691.

According to Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), the three cases were detected from contact tracing of the Alam Cluster in Bintulu.

“The cases involved two local citizens and one Philippine citizen.

“With that, the Alam Cluster now has a total of seven cases,” it said in a statement.

To date, there are six active clusters in the state — the Engineering Company Cluster with eight cases; Mambong Cluster (7); Sentosa Cluster (31); Melbourne PUI Cluster (3); Satok Market Cluster (4) and Alam Cluster (7).

SDMC also revealed that there were no new recovery cases, bringing the total number of Covid-19 cases which have recovered and discharged to remain at 662, or 95.80 percent.

“At present, there are 10 cases undergoing treatment at isolation wards in hospitals. The total Covid-19 deaths in Sarawak remains at 19 or 2.75 percent,” it added.

Apart from that, 36 new person-under- investigation (PUI) cases were reported while four cases are awaiting lab results.
