KUCHING: The Betong League 2022 campaign will be unveiled on July 23 with a total cash prize of RM21,600 up for grabs.

President of the Betong Division Football Association (BDFA), Abang Suhordie Abang Zaini said the amount of the cash prize covers the breakdown of allotted that has been set.

A cash prize of RM3,000 along with trophies and medals awaits the top winner (champions) of the Betong League 2022.

First runner-up will take home RM2,000 cash plus trophies and medals.

Meanwhile, a lucrative cash prize awaits the team winning the Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas Cup.
This is followed by RM5,000 cash in addition to trophies and medals for the team in second place.

For two teams losing in the semifinals, they are joint third place winners and will take home RM2,000 in cash plus trophies and medals.

“We held a meeting with the BDFA Exco yesterday afternoon and finalised the cash prizes for both competitions (Betong League 2022 & Sarawak Deputy Premier Cup 2022),” said Abang Suhordie to Arena Suara Sarawak.

According to him, the competition this season is a little different when his party as the parent body also stipulates that all teams that compete this time must list five players under the age of 25 in the starting line -up.

In addition, they are allowed to use the services of not more than four import players per team.

“The latest changes highlighted by us are more towards the transformation of football development in the Betong Division,” he added.

Abang Suhordie also stated that this time the competition is trying to target ten teams with the registration fee of RM1,500 for each team.
Betong Sports Complex is the venue that will be used throughout the tournament.
