KUCHING: Three men pleaded not guilty to breaking into a property company’s premises.

Leong Chee Thong, 31; Lai Chee Hau, 30; and Chong Yean Fook, 26; appeared before judge Syarifah Fatimah Azura Wan Ali on Thursday (Jan 12).

They were charged under Section 447 of the Penal Code for trespassing into the premises in question in Jalan Lapangan Terbang here at about 4.30pm, last Friday (Jan 6).

If convicted, they are looking at a prison sentence of up to six months or a fine of up to RM3,000 or both.

Judge Syarifah Fatimah set the date for recall to Feb 21. While waiting for the said date, they were each allowed bail of RM1,000 with one local surety.

It was understood that the complainant, an employee of the company, heard a noise in the premises and noticed that a 40,000ltr water tank had been carted away and stored onto a lorry.

The complainant then called his employer to find out whether or not he had asked anyone to remove the tank.

The employer said he did not, thus the complainant proceeded to file a police report for further action. The three men were arrested on the same day.
