Tuesday’s nine deaths push toll to 639

KUCHING: Sarawak recorded nine new deaths linked to Covid-19 on Tuesday (Sept 14), raising the state’s Covid-19 death toll to 639.

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said the 631st death was a Brought In Dead (BID) case involving a 51-year-old woman from Tatau District whose body had been brought to Bintulu Hospital.

“The case was confirmed as Covid-19 positive on Aug 27 and she had comorbidities of high blood pressure, diabetes, asthma, and chronic kidney disease.”

They said the 632nd death was a woman aged 63 years from Kuching District who passed away at Sarawak General Hospital (SGH), adding that the case tested positive for Covid-19 on Sept 3 and had cancer.

“The 633rd death was an 86-year-old man from Sibu District who passed away at Sibu Hospital. He was confirmed as Covid-19 positive on Sept 9.”

SDMC said this case had comorbidities of high blood pressure, diabetes, dyslipidaemia, and chronic kidney disease.

As for the 634th death, it involved a woman aged 67 years from Sri Aman District who passed away at Sri Aman Hospital.

“The case was confirmed as positive for Covid-19 on Sept 10 and she had comorbidities of high blood pressure, diabetes, dyslipidaemia, and heart disease.”

SDMC said the 635th death was a man aged 69 years from Serian District who passed away at Serian Hospital.

“The case was confirmed as positive for Covid-19 on Sept 11 and he had high blood pressure and diabetes.”

SDMC said the 636th death was woman aged 81 years from Sri Aman District who passed away at Sri Aman Hospital.

The case tested positive for Covid-19 on Sept 11 and had high blood pressure, diabetes, dyslipidaemia, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

“The 637th death involved an 83-year-old man from Kuching District who passed away at SGH. He was confirmed as Covid-19 positive on Sept 7 and had high blood pressure and diabetes.”

On the 638th death, SDMC said this was an 89-year-old woman from Miri District who passed away at Miri Hospital.

“The case was confirmed as positive for Covid-19 on Sept 13 and had comorbidities of high blood pressure, diabetes, dyslipidaemia, and heart disease.”

SDMC said the 639th death involved a 71-year-old woman from Bintulu District who passed away at Bintulu Hospital.

“The case was confirmed as Covid-19 positive on Sept 13 and she had high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease.”
