SIBU: Two men narrowly escaped a fiery fate when their car caught fire at Jalan Lada here on Sunday night.
Both individuals, aged 36 and 23, suffered only minor injuries. However, the exact extent of their injuries has not been disclosed.
According to Zone 4 Fire and Rescue Department chief Andy Alie, a team from the Sibu Sentral fire and rescue station responded promptly to a distress call at 8.46 pm.
“The team arrived at the scene to find the car engulfed in flames, while the driver and passenger had already extricated themselves,” the statement said today.
Paramedics took the two victims for observation.
The operation concluded at 9.26 pm. The investigation into the cause of the fire and the full extent of the damage is ongoing.
