SARATOK: Two men were severely injured while three others sustained light injuries in a road collision involving two lorries near Bukit Perabun, Jalan Roban yesterday.

In the 9.23am accident today, the State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) received a distress call pertaining an accident involving two lorries. Following the call, a team of firefighters from the Saratok fire station were despatched to the scene.

Saratok fire station operation commander Nazry Mohammat reported that the accident occurred when a lorry transporting food collided with another lorry carrying construction materials — both lorries were moving from opposite directions.

Upon arrival, they found two victims trapped inside the lorry carrying construction materials.

It was reported that the lorry driver, 58, suffered a broken left leg while his passenger, 31, suffered a broken right leg and neck injuries.

Meanwhile, three others aged between 32 and 46 years from the other lorry only sustained light injuries.

All victims were immediately referred to Saratok Hospital for further treatment.
