TYT, wife receive two courtesy calls

KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud  and wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Hajjah Ragad Kurdi Taib yesterday received a courtesy call from 2017 State Level Quran Recital Committee led by the committee advisor Datuk Haji Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah at the Astana Negeri.

The call was to invite Tun Pehin Sri Taib and wife to be present at the State Level Quran Recital that will be held at Dewan Suarah Samarahan starting today and ends on 18 March.

Also present were President of the Sarawak Islamic Council Datu Misnu Taha, Stakan Assemblyman Dato Sri Mohammad Ali Mahmud, Muara Tuang Assemblyman Dato’ Idris Buang, Director of the Sarawak Islamic Religious Department, Ismail Mohammad Hanis, Samarahan Resident Brahim Lumpu and other delegates.

Thereafter Tun Pehin Sri Taib and wife also received a courtesy call by 53 members of the RTM Veterans Association Semenanjung Malaysia led by former RTM Director-General Dato Jaafar Kamin and former Deputy DG  Tan Sri Ahmad Othman Merican as well as another former DG Dato Adilah Shek Omar.

Also in the delegation were Director of RTM Sarawak, Salmah Ibrahim Melina, former Director General Dato’ Norhayati Ismail who is also chairman of PVRTM Sarawak and former Director of RTM Sarawak, Ahmad Shafiee Yahya.
