KUCHING: Members of the public are invited to the Deputy Premier’s Gawai Dayak Open House on June 1.
The open house, hosted by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Dayak leaders in Parti Pesaka Bumiputra Bersatu (PBB), will be held at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) from 10 am to 3 pm.
Among those invited to attend will be Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, Sarawak Cabinet members, other dignitaries, heads of all political parties and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
Gawai Dayak is a thanksgiving and harvest festival marking bountiful yields and the planning of future prospects.
It is both a religious and social festival, which is celebrated annually on June 1 by the Dayak people in Sarawak.
