KUCHING: Sarawak Symphony Orchestra (SONS) will pay tribute to frontliners working around the clock fighting the Covid-19 pandemic through a musical performance next weekend at the new State Legislative building in Petra Jaya here.

Sarawak Art Council chief executive officer Sharkawi Amit said the showcase would be unique, highlighting the element of digital multimedia.

The showcase will be presented in the form of dance, poem recital, song and choir performances, featuring live orchestra music performance from SONS,” he said when met during the rehearsal at the venue on Wednesday (Oct 14).

Sharkawi also said the performances would blend several artistic genres, such as dance and theatre, to highlight the struggles and efforts dealing with the pandemic and Malaysia’s success in flattening the infection curve.

“This is an exceptional opportunity for locals to enjoy unique Sarawakian performances that combine contemporary arts with our traditional arts.

“Above all, we are thrilled to be able to put together this fitting tribute to our frontliners and to our Chief Minister, who has been working tirelessly just to ensure Sarawakians are all safe and healthy.”
