KUCHING: The vaccination process in the districts of Marudi and Beluru is going smoothly.

Marudi assemblyman Datuk Dr Penguang Manggil said in his constituency, vaccination centres (PPV) were set up at the Beluru Community Hall, Dewan Suarah Marudi, Long Lama Health Clinic, Bekenu Community Hall, and the health clinics in interior areas such as Long Teru, Long Teran, Long Jegan and Ulu Teru.

“At the Beluru Community Hall PPV, almost 1,500 people have been vaccinated since its operation on June 11,” he said in a Facebook post on Tuesday (June 15).

He added that the PPV was targeting another 2,600 people vaccinated until next Sunday.

“When the Dewan Suarah Marudi PPV started operation earlier, 5,600 people have been vaccinated thus far.”

Penguang said officers from the District Office, community leaders, council members, and staff of Marudi Constituency Service Centre, including village youths, would be working together to ensure the success of the vaccination programme.

“These groups will be contacting vaccine recipients and making sure they are present to receive the shots according to the scheduled appointment.

“This will be done by making announcements on social media, contacting the vaccine recipient’s family members who are in the city and also to inform the community leaders (tuai rumah).

“If necessary, the penghulu will go to villages to inform and distribute the name list of who will be receiving the vaccine.

“I urged those yet to register to do so through the MySejahtera app or contact the respective District Office.”
