PADAWAN: Villagers of Kampung Sapit will soon have access to 24-hour electricity supply, said Deputy Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities, Datuk Willie Mongin.

He said the Rural Electricity Supply (BELB) project for the village was listed under the Additional and Late Applicant Funds (ALAF) Phase 4 which will be implemented in the fourth quarter of 2022.

“The is the success of hard work and efforts in submitting and following up about the application with the Ministry of Rural Development.

“The allocation from the ministry will be channeled to the state Ministry of Utilities and Telecommunications who will implement the project later,” he said in a statement posted on his Facebook page, today.

Willie who is also Puncak Borneo Member of Parliament said the approval of the project was based on the site survey work and that the location of houses in the village had met the criteria set by the scheme.
