KUCHING: Baptisa Emmanuel Korintus from SJK (C) Kai Chung Bintangor won the Special Talent Award in the Sarawak Preschool Kids Got Talent (SPKGT) 2020 event.

The prize was presented by Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah to an adult representative from the school in a simple ceremony held at Baitulmakmur 2 building here on Thursday (Dec 10).

Introduced in 2018, the SPKGT aimed to unearth the talents and potential of children in various fields such as public speaking, storytelling, dancing, singing, drawing, coloring and other special skills possessed by children.

This year, SPKGT was implemented according to the new norms with participation through video recording. The entries were open from July 15 to Oct 19.

“We received a total 274 entries for this year’s competition — 27 for public speaking, 50 for storytelling, 16 for dancing, 49 for solo singing, 25 for coloring, 89 for drawing and colouring and 18 for special talent,” she said.
