With MD Worlds, Perodua opens its 199th outlet

KOTA SAMARAHAN: Perodua through it’s newly appointed dealer, MD Worlds Sdn Bhd, opens it’s 199th sales outlet in Campus Hub Commercial Centre, Kota Samarahan, yesterday.

The grand opening of the new outlets was officiates by Chief Minister, Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Abang Openg.

“Congratulations to MD Worlds Sdn Bhd for the new Perodua Showroom. This company (MD Worlds) is one of the successful stories among Bumiputera entrepreneurs in Sarawak.

“Diversify his business in dealing and organisation, MD Worlds is one of the example for the other Bumiputera business to chart their business,” said Johari.

Johari also said that the entrepreneurs must expand their collaboration among bumiputera and non-bumiputera, to share their knowledge especially in term of marketing.

Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd Managing Director, Dato’ Dr. Zahari Husin said, East Malaysia is an important market for Perodua as there is a lot of untapped potential, particularly with all the development projects planned by the government.

“For the first quarter of 2017, Perodua sold a total of 50,300 vehicles, of which only six per cent comes from East Malaysia.

“We are looking to further increase that number by improving our currently sales operations as well as expanding our operations with partners such as MD Worlds,” said Zahari.

Zahari also noted that Perodua products namely Axia, Alza, Myvi and Beza are recognised as the top four models in Malaysia.

Meanwhile, Chairman of MD Group of Companies, Donald Lawan said up to date, his Samarahan outlet has sold 65 units.

“Our target is at least 120 units sold for every quarter in a year, meaning 40 units per month for Perodua in Samarahan alone,” said Donald.

The grand opening ceremony was enliven with various activities such as performances by local artists namely Melissa Francis as well as Miss World Talent 2014, Dewi Liana Seriestha, singing contest, best dressed man/woman, and performance by local band.

Also present were Deputy Chief Minister, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr. James Jemut Masing, Assistant Minister of Youth and Sport, Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Assistant Minister of Entrepreneurs Development, Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais and others.
