Work on erosion control project starts soon

MIRI: Work to build erosion control project at a landing site for fishing boats at Kampung Batu 1 in Kuala Baram will commence this month.

Transport Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin said when the project is completed in November 2022, it would protect the area from erosion and flooding.

Lee disclosed this today, after witnessing the handing over of the construction site by the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) Sarawak director Datuk Chok Moi Soon to the contractor, Mechunma Sdn Bhd which represented by its director Suzie Raniah Ra’ee.

The project, approved under the 11th Malaysia Plan involves an allocation of RM25million, which covers the cost of designs and construction.
