KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg received a courtesy call from Yayasan Dakwah Islamiah Malaysia (YADIM) at Wisma Bapa Malaysia yesterday.

According to the foundation’s statement, the delegation was led by chief executive officer Tuan Kamarul Arief Tuan Soh.

The purpose of the courtesy call was to introduce YADIM which has been operating in Sarawak for a long time and also to strengthen closer cooperation with the state government.

YADIM also sought views and suggestions from Abang Johari on the Islamic dakwah approach in a broader context.

Among the concepts mentioned was da’wah through actions which has been shown to be more on the prominence of good morals and attitudes as well as making da’wah a message in the people’s empowerment programme.

Also present during the visit were senior director in the Office of the president of YADIM, Muhammad Najhan Shahir Halim, and YADIM Sarawak director Awang Dulhadi Awang Mat.
