KUCHING: Tomorrow Saturday, November 19, the 21.1 million registered Malaysian voters are casting their votes for the GE15.

While the young voters are considered as the ‘decision makers’ in determining the fates of the political parties in the election results in actuality, they comprise only a small percentage of the 1.4 million registered voters.

This is based on a study by MalaysiaNow that the young voters’ representation is less than the 23 per cent of those aged between 31-50 years old.

“Majority of the new voters are in the 21-50 age group,” MalaysiaNow reportedly said.

It added that of the genders in the 21.1 Malaysian voters, the study found out that the gender representation is almost equal in the numbers of male and female voters eligible to vote.

Similarly, the New Straits Times reportedly said in its news portal on Nov 8, majority of the young voters would be relying on manifestos by political parties to see what resonate with them.
