KUCHING: Youth in Samariang are encouraged to become more active and to take part in programme organised especially for them, said Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali during Youth Programme (Program Ziarah Belia @ Samariang 2021) on Thursday (Sept 30).

Samariang assemblywoman said she hoped more youngsters would become more active and involved in beneficial programme as the state enters Phase 3 of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) tomorrow (Oct 1).

“After this, we can absolutely plan more programmes, particularly in the Samariang constituency, but only with rigorous adherence to the standard operating procedures,” she said, adding that there is no reason why the youths should not participate in good and encouraging activities like these.

During today’s event, Sharifah Hasidah who is also the Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Law, State-Federal Relations, and Project Monitoring) revealed that a total of 70 people had received the Covid-19 pandemic assistance contribution, the majority of whom came from different villages within her constituency.

As such, she expressed her hope that the youth will continue to work together to develop Sarawak and serve as role models for other youths out there.

She also thanked the Ministry of Youth and Sports for including the youths of Samariang in their youth programmes with the aim of establishing Sarawak’s Youth Champions.
