SARATOK: The youth are being urged to actively explore business opportunities, either through direct involvement or part-time engagement.

Kalaka assemblyman Mohamad Duri highlighted that many young individuals have achieved success in the business world, serving as inspiration for others.

He noted that, on average, these youth are willing to seize opportunities, in addition to making use of various government initiatives.

“Today’s youth are making progress, even though some may be hesitant to try new things or take risks. It’s crucial to continuously enhance our knowledge and learn from those who have succeeded or are skilled in their fields.”

He emphasised the importance of determination, stating, “We should foster the belief that we can follow the footsteps of successful individuals if we make an effort.”

He shared these thoughts while awarding certificates to participants of a Cake Decorating Skills Course, organised by the Kalaka Assemblyman Service Centre and Khairra Cake & Bake.

Mohamad stressed that a strong foundation is knowledge, underscoring that without it, achieving success can be challenging. He pledged his support for any initiative aimed at providing skills enhancement courses for Kalaka youth interested in entrepreneurship.

“Additionally, government agency support is vital. Besides knowledge and skills, the government provides programmes and grants for youth to kick-start their businesses.”

The Cake Decorating Skills Course, attended by 15 participants over two days, aimed to equip attendees with valuable knowledge and abilities to launch their business ventures.

He further advised participants to explore further courses from community colleges and other organizations offering short-term programmes to enhance their skill sets.

Present at the event were DUN Kalaka deputy head Kasdi Pandi, and DUN Kalaka women chief Lela Ali.
