KUCHING: Youth should continue to be up-skilled for personal career development to ensure their capability relevance in their working environment.

Chairman of Youth Development Committee of Angkatan Zaman Mansang Sarawak (AZAM) Mohd Ariff Irwani made this call when conducting a youth capacity building activity here yesterday (Nov 12).

The workshop was presented through a very competitive simulation board game and the participants were pitted against each other in simulated challenges in career advancement quests and personal growth journey.

Ariff pointed out to the participants that this programme would be able to provide knowledge that could guide the youth once they stepped into the working world especially in terms of identifying critical career advancement skills, developing positive attitude and proactive behaviour, and pursuing personal wellbeing and emotional balance.

Meanwhile, one of the participants, Nabillah recommended that both working graduates and final year students participate in such a programme as it taught them the challenges and what they could expect at the work place through a safe setting.
