MUKAH: Youths, especially in the rural areas here, should take up opportunities in every development undertaken by the Sarawak government.

In stating this, Assistant Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneurship Development I, Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu, said they should not stand by idly but get directly involved in such development.

“There are many opportunities for youths to get involved in, for example, in the e-hailing business, especially to bring visitors or tourists who come to Mukah,” he said at a dinner with the youth here recently.

Towards this end he said the role of the youths was very important in determining the future of Sarawak.

“Now we are instructed to further increase development in terms of digital policy, digital economy, coastal roads, Mukah airport and the discovery of gas in Balingian.

“The youth must take the opportunity to improve the economy. We locals need to take up opportunities in the local economy, ” he said.
