MIRI:  A total of 1,622 job vacancies are available at the 2nd Datuk Sebastian’s 2023 Education, Career and Entrepreneur Fair here.

The fair will serve as a platform to connect aspiring students with renowned educational institutions, helping them make informed decisions about their future academic pursuits.

According to a statement issued today, the fair is also a project initiated by the N73 Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Piasau service centre Youth Branch with the Miri Division Education Initiative Society (MEIS).

Partnerships have been established with MMS Education, Miri District Education Office, and Social Security Organisation (SOCSO) for the event.

With MMS as the education partner, the fair is expected to be even more comprehensive, bringing together a diverse range of universities from Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Canada and the United States for students seeking quality education. 

MMS will play a pivotal role in facilitating the participation of 30 private institutions from Malaysia and overseas.

These institutions have been carefully selected for their outstanding reputation and commitment to academic excellence.

The education fair is scheduled to take place at Pullman Hotel, Level 6 from July 8 to 9 from 8 am to 5 pm for first day and second day from 10 am to 5 pm.

Students attending the fair will have the unique opportunity to interact with representatives from these institutions and gain insights into the various programmes and courses they offer.

There are many study loans and incentives to Sarawakian students especially studying at state-owned universities such as Curtin University Malaysia Campus, Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak and University Technology Sarawak.

Bumiputera students from B40 and M40 income groups can receive subsidised fees equivalent to government universities, as well as full study loans.

Sarawakians are also eligible for study loans that can be converted to scholarships upon graduation with a CGPA of 3.0 and above.

The fair will feature informative seminars, interactive workshops, and panel discussions, all designed to equip students with the necessary knowledge and resources to shape their academic and professional paths.

“The Sarawak Foundation (Yayasan Sarawak) provides 100 per cent student loans for qualified students. Those who meet the threshold can also enjoy a discount of 30 per cent to 70 per cent of the student loans, so we call on students to come to the scene learn,” said the statement.

Entrance to the event is free, and attendees are encouraged to mark their calendars and invite friends, family, and colleagues to take advantage of this excellent opportunity to gather valuable insights and make informed decisions about their educational and career paths, paving the way for a brighter future.
