250 to vie in Kuching Got Talent

KUCHING: Some 250 participants are expected to compete in this year’s Kuching Got Talent (KGT) in conjunction with the Kuching Festival Food Fair.

Kuching City South Council (MBKS) Mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng said the competition would be divided into three categories, which is dancing, singing and other talents.

“Earlier this month, audition for the KGT 2022 was held while both semi-final and final will be respectively held on Aug 13 and 14 at MBKS Theatre (Floating Stage) within compound of City Hall from 6.00pm onwards,” he said.

“Therefore, sincere thanks to Sports Toto Malaysia (STM) Lottery Sdn Bhd which has greatly helped to defray part of the running expenses for this event,” he said in a press conference after receiving the donation from STM at MBSK on Friday.

Wee said that STM has donated a sum of RM40,000 for the KGT this year. STM has had been one of the main sponsors for the Kuching Festival for 28 consecutive years.

Earlier Wee received the cheque of RM40,000 from STM Lottery Sdn Bhd senior manager (Communication) Giam Say Khoon.

Meanwhile, besides local industry experts, music producers, famous singers, music talents, dance examiner or choreographer, managing director from recording companies are invited to form a group of panels of judges this year to judge the performance of Kuching Talents.

The most anticipated Kuching Festival Food Fair 2022 will start on July 29 until August 21 around the vicinity of the Padungan community hall.

With more than 333 stalls selling a wide variety of food, the fair promises to be a food paradise with more than 30 halal stall participants and 90 indoor trade show stalls.
