4,000 big bikers expected at KIBW 2017

KUCHING: Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports, Datuk Abdul Kar im Rahman Hamzah took time off to get acquainted with the committee members of Kuching International Bike Week 2017 (KIBW 2017) at CityOne Mega Mall here, yesterday.

He later proceeded to hold a meeting relating to the event which will be held from 13 to 15 October at CityOne Mega Mall here.

Also present were the founder of KIBW 2017, Dato’ Sri Shahrizal Md Ishak, President of Iron Tiger Bikers Kuching Club, Datin Sri Elly Zalilah Md Yusof and Festival Director, Silas M Martin. KIBW 2017 is expected to attract around 4,000 high powered motorcycle riders from Sabah, Labuan, Kuala Lumpur, Brunei Darussalam, Singapore and Indonesia.

This year, a daredevil driver from USA, Aaron Twite is expected to be present at the event. Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg are exected to be present at a Gala Dinner for the event on 14 October.
