495 Trainees successfully complete Basic Police Constable Training in Kuching

At the ceremony, Mohd Azman presented the Overall Best Trainee Award to 23-year-old Lai Xii Yuan.

KUCHING: A total of 495 trainees completed their six-month Basic Police Constable Training (PLAK) at the Kuching Police Training Centre (Pulapol) today (Sept 9).

The passing-out parade passing-out parade was graced by Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Mohd Azman Ahmad Sapri.

He extended his congratulations to the 248 male and 247 female trainees for their dedication and successful completion of their rigorous training.

“Therefore, my hope, along with the entire leadership, is that the trainees can eliminate the negative perception of the police force within the community by demonstrating their personality and professionalism in their future duties.

“In facing the challenges of new responsibilities and environments, I would also like to remind and advise all trainees to steer clear of negative phenomena.

“These include corruption, abuse of power, criminal activities, and immoral behaviour that contradicts the ethics of a public servant,” he said in his closing speech during the ceremony..

He emphasised that involvement in such negative activities not only jeopardises their own careers but also damages the reputation of the entire force.

He also encouraged the trainees to provide exceptional service to the community, serving with sincerity, adhering to laws and regulations, and fostering a spirit of unity among their colleagues.

“I am also informed that among the trainers, there are 22 people with degree qualifications and 72 with diplomas.

“You all are an important asset to the PDRM because the team needs knowledgeable and competitive young individuals to enhance the quality of the force’s service.”
